Renata is a partner and head of UNO’s Customs and  Tax Department. Renata has significant experience in working with companies to minimize the risks and costs of importing products in to Brazil while maximizing tax benefits. Renata has worked with largest Brazilian trading companies as well as multinational and Brazilian companies. Renata has worked in both tax planning and compliance and has experience working with clients in a variety of sectors including automotive, clothing, information technology, cosmetics, luxury market and agriculture,  among others.

Renata has assisted companies in a variety of customs and tax matters including  customs valuation, tariff classification, origin of goods, duty drawback, temporary import and/or export regimes, bonded warehouse and free trade zones, Generalized System of Preferences and inward and outward processing relief.

Renata also participated as a guest lecturer in courses sponsored by various trade associations.  Topics presented include "Customs Valuation", "Taxes on Imports", "Tax Classification of Goods" and "Contributions in Import"

Renata has also authored several articles on customs and tax matters such as  “The IPI – Relevant Legal Aspects”, Editora Quartier Latin (2003), “Unconstitutionality of equivalence to industrials in importation”, Tax Law Magazine of APET – São Paulo Association of Tax Law, (2004) and “Tax Planning in import operations” and “The IPI and the importation of products of foreign origin” from the book “Tax Planning” coordinated by Marcelo Magalhães Peixoto (2004).
